Museum of Science & Technology
 Today the Polytechnical Museum is rightfully considered the main Museum, telling about she history of science and technology in Russia. As a scientific and methodic; center of the museum management studies, it fulfils a whole row of important tasks. The Museum brings to light and shows the collections of other scientific and technical museums to further a fair preservation of the national heritage. It is guiding a professional skill mastering in the work of the museums of technical profile. The Museum co-ordinates the activity on finding, custody and bringing to cultural circulation the most valuable, rare objects of science and technology from other museum’s collections of the country. It also assists in assimilating by the scientific and technical museums the experience of foreign and home specialists.
As the leading Museum of history of science and technology, the Polytechnical renders the methodic and practical help to the establishing museums.
1987 the Polytechnical Museum took part in the foundation of the Association of scientific and technical museums under Russian Committee of ICOM (International Council of Museums). The Museum today is a scientific, organizing and methodic center of the Association. From the seventies the Polytechnical Museum is a Member of the International Council of Museums.
The staff members of the Museum take an active part in the work of the international Committee of Technical Museums, that enters the ICOM.
